When you are in a situation where you have finally decided it is time to lose that extra weight you have been carrying, it’s safe to say that the first type of attitude that people have is the desire to get the job done as quickly and effortlessly as possible. Don’t get me wrong, losing weight and then changing your life in such a way that will help you keep it off, can be really hard, but there is no doubting there are a few techniques can help you kick things off. Here are some no fail jump starts to losing weight quickly!
1. Better Breakfast
Don’t start off the day by starving yourself, instead build a breakfast that is going to give you the fuel and energy that you need to make good choices for the rest of the day. A healthy, hearty breakfast of something like Greek yoghurt or eggs or beans or nuts is perfect. You should be aiming to consume around 400 to 500 calories in the morning and you will notice that your blood sugar is much more stable which leads to fewer hunger cravings.
2. Whole Foods
You really need to prioritise whole foods in your diet rather than processed and packaged foods. There are just way too many preservatives in those products to be a healthy staple in your every day eating. Instead, stick to fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy and lean proteins.
3. Salt Limits
Make sure to take notice of the sodium count in the snacks that you are eating. If a product has less than 140 mg of sodium per serving, then it can be classed as truly low salt. It might take some time to find snacks that follow these guidelines, but it’s really worth seeking out the low sodium foods.
It’s actually good to start your day off with a nice cup of coffee. Caffeine is a natural diuretic as well as being a great source of antioxidants. If you are somebody who doesn’t like the taste of coffee, you can also get a fix of caffeine from tea. Sometimes people don’t realise that tea has caffeine it in too, not just coffee!
5. Avoid Sugary Drinks
This one goes without saying! Liquid calories don’t necessarily make you feel full, but they are calories none the less, and you need to be careful about how many calories you drink in the form of sugary soft drinks. This goes for alcohol as well, which is actually doubly unhelpful because it known for being able to suppress the metabolism of fat in the body!
6. Spicy Foods
One fun way to kick start some weight loss is by upping your intake of spicy foods! Things like chili peppers can increase adrenaline, which in turn speeds up the body’s ability to burn calories. Ginger, turmeric, black pepper and oregano are all great spicy additions.
