Mike Caron of Portions Master invented the Skinny Plate. This is a plate with sections for the right servings of protein, carbs and vegetables. You simply place it on your dinnerware, fill up with food then remove and you have perfect portions.
There are many, many people who have lost weight this way. Over the past few years, portion control plates have even been mentioned and highlighted in women's' magazines such as Woman's World.
Personally, I started to use a portion control plate three weeks ago and have lost eight pounds so far. I use the 1 1/2 serving section for the main dish, a 1 serving section for vegetables and the other 1 serving section for fruit. I had been on a plateau for over a year, so I am also proof that the portion control plate works.
