Gone are the days of late night Chinese takeout and pizza delivery, because if you want to change your metabolism, you need to make healthier choices. To beat your genetics you have to start living each day for your health rather than living for your cravings.

3 Exercise Regularly

There are many days I am tired and just not in the mood to work out but in order to combat my genes, I work hard and always exercise regularly. As a result, I feel great when I complete my workouts and I never have any regrets. Exercise for 4-6 days a week so that you can combat your fat genes as well.

4 Stay Active

Do not be a fit couch potato and exercise for an hour a day while the remainder of the day, you lie on the couch. This is no way to live your life and it's unhealthy for your heart. Stay active by walking throughout the day and moving as much as you can. This is a great way to combat your fat genes and lose weight!

5 Eat Soup

Studies show people that have soup before a meal eat significantly less in their subsequent meal, so sip on some soup. Just make sure to choose clear broths that are lower in sodium rather than high fat cream based soups. The higher sodium broths can cause water retention, which will not help you to feel your best.

6 Have More Salad

To combat your fat genes, start eating more greens by enjoying a salad every day. Eating salad is an easy way to take in plenty of fiber and phytonutrients that can speed up your metabolism. Make sure you make salad part of your daily intake!
