Have you ever wondered how much water you should drink everyday to lose weight? If you have had any questions about how the intake of water can help you to shed a few pounds, then you might find the following post insightful. Feel free to let me know what you think!
7. Keep a Bottle of Water Handy at Work to Sip from
Sipping on a constant supply of water will help keep the munchies at bay. I find it helpful to freeze a partially filled water bottle the night before I’m going to need it. I then fill the bottle up the rest of the way with tap water so I have cool water for most of the day. It’s much easier to sip water that has been chilled then it is to try to drink room temperature water. The body can also absorb cool water more readily than warmer water.
6. Drink a Glass of Water Instead of Munching on Junk Food
If you don’t feel hungry and you only ate an hour ago but still feel like snacking, then grab a glass of water and drink it down. This might not be as satisfying as a bag of chips or a packet of cup cakes, but it is definitely healthier for you. It will also help you refrain from consuming unnecessary calories and the additional weight gain that comes with those calories.
5. Use Filtered Water when Possible
Water from the tap generally has chemicals in it, especially if you live in a large city. These chemicals are added in order to purify the water and make it safe to drink. Sometimes these chemicals have an adverse effect on people. Filtering your water will eliminate these chemicals, as well as any other bacteria that might be present in the water. Drinking water that is clean and pure will provide you with the necessary fluid to keep you hydrated while keeping harmful substances out of your water. When your body is filled with good water, it will function better as you work on losing weight.
4. Sip Water as You Eat Your Meal
Taking time to sip water as you eat will slow down your intake of food. It takes 20 minutes for your brain to receive the signal from your stomach that it is full. If you gingerly drink a glass of water while you dine, then your brain should have plenty of time to get this signal before your stomach begins to ache. Generally, the less food you take in, the fewer calories you will consume and the more weight you will lose.
3. Wait until after You’ve Exercised to Drink Some Water
It’s difficult to exercise properly when you have water sloshing around in your stomach. A stomach full of water also tends to give most people side aches if they try to exercise. Wait until you are finished with your exercise routine and then take small sips of water, don’t gulp it!
2. You Need at Least 8 Cups of Water a Day to Keep Properly Hydrated
Don’t confuse cups with glasses. 8 cups of water means 8 servings of 8 ounces each. People often think 8 cups means 8 glasses of water and they get discouraged when they can’t consume this rather large amount of water. If you are able to drink the recommended amount of water each day, then you’ll be properly hydrated and it will be easier to maintain a healthy lifestyle geared towards weight loss.
1. Drink a Glass 20 Minutes before a Meal to Feel Fuller
Remember the rule about the brain needing 20 minutes notice from your stomach? Well, if you can drink a glass of water 20 minutes prior to eating, then your brain will know your stomach won’t be able to hold as much food as it could if it was empty. Hopefully this technique will help you to cut down on the amount of food you eat for every meal.
Monitoring how much water you should drink everyday to lose weight can be difficult if you try to break it down into different parts. The easiest thing to do, in my opinion, is keep a bottle of water with me at all times and make sure it’s nice and cool. How do you keep track of how much water you drink each day to help with weight loss?
