Lean Abs Are Made in the Kitchen

By eating healthy and making the right food choices you will lean down and see the abs you have dreamed of. You should focus on eating veggies, fruit and whole grains. Skip or cut back on the breads and make greens your main focus. If you eat clean you will find this is one of the best ways to tone your tummy.

Hard Abs Are Made in the Gym

Through your workouts, you will sculpt your stomach so that you can see some striations and get a little chiseled. This does not mean you have to do countless ab workouts, but by focusing just 15 minutes on the right abdominal exercises you will achieve tremendous results.

Focus on the Plank

The plank is one of the best abdominal exercises to strengthen and tone your stomach, back and obliques. This exercise focuses on your total core to bring you great results. So make sure you get in pushup position with your body in a straight line, get on your forearms and hold for up to one minute. As you get stronger, you can hold for longer.

Cut out the Sugar

Ice creams, cookies and cakes may taste great but this is the processed sugar that causes abdominal bloating and weight gain. So when craving a sweet treat, have a piece of fruit. This simple choice makes a world of difference on your waistline.

Tighten Your Tummy

Stand tall and tighten your tummy so you can strengthen the muscles and teach them to stay tensed. This is the same exercise body builders do before shows because it really works. You can do this while you are standing at the grocery store. Just tighten for 10 seconds and then release. Repeat several times for great results.

Drink Plenty of Water

Make sure you drink plenty of water to help rid your body of toxins and lean down those abs. It is recommend that you drink 8-12 glasses of water a day. And if you like cold water, even better. Studies show you burn 10 more calories by just drinking cold water. So drink your way to a leaner stomach!

Do Your do Cardio

Cardio exercises strengthen your lungs and heart, and tone your tummy. By doing just 45 minutes of cardio several days a week you can lean down so you take the steps into achieving the tight and toned tummy you have always dreamed of. Without the cardio this is not achieved because some people find the last place they lose weight is their stomach. Cardio can help you lean down everywhere, including the tummy. So get running, biking, hiking, dancing or simply jump roping to a tighter and toned tummy.
