1. Volunteer
There are lots of opportunities to volunteer in the summer that will help you burn calories and work your muscles. In fact, this might be one of the most beneficial free ways to lose weight. Look for a yard makeover project or an opportunity to plant a community garden. You'll feel good and look good at the same time.
2. Play a Sport
If you were a basketball or soccer player in your youth, revisit your love of that sport by joining a team for adults. There are lots of free ones, but if you can't find one, grab some friends and head to the park and play. You'll burn tons of calories and have some summer fun too!

The playground isn't just for the kids. Chase your little ones up the stairs and around the structure. Or push them on the swings. Maybe play some Frisbee or ride your bikes. All of these are a fun way to spend some time with your kids and get in shape for free. Have fun!
