Getting to the gym can be such a hassle sometimes, so it's important to learn about the best ways to exercise without going to the gym. You are a busy person, so sometimes you just don't have the time. But exercise doesn't always mean having to go the gym. Sometimes little changes you make can really add up, and you won't feel so bad about skipping the gym for a day or two. If you want to exercise away from the gym, it's actually quite easy. So here are some ways to get in a quick workout without having to hit the gym.
1. Take the Stairs
Elevators are pointless in my opinion. If you are perfectly able to, there is really no excuse to not take the stairs. It is a simple way to get in a quick little cardio workout and really work your legs and butt. Try this at work, at the mall, at the movie theater -- anywhere there's a staircase.
2. Clean Your Room
It sounds like a hassle, but cleaning your room can actually be a great workout. Not only is it one of the best ways to exercise without going to the gym, it's also quite practical. Turn some upbeat music on, dance around your room, and get your room clean. All while getting in some cardio!
3. Walk It out
For all those in a city, skip the car, subway, taxi or whatever you use to get around and walk it out. Sure, you may need to leave a bit earlier than if you were driving, but it will be worth it when you can skip the gym. Plus you get to check out all the cute boys you pass on the street.
4. Take the Scenic Route
If just walking it out isn’t enough, try taking the scenic route. If you have the time, take a long and relaxing walk and take in all the sights and sounds around you. You’ll burn even more calories and get a relaxing walk by yourself.
5. Go for a Bike Ride
If walking everywhere doesn’t sound like something you want to do, swap it with a nice bike ride. Biking tones your legs and butt and works out your core. So it is a great alternative to driving a car. And an added bonus is going green and not having to pay for gas.
6. Show Some Puppy Love
Anytime I play with my puppy, I end up out of breath. Pets have so much energy, so playing with one is a great way to exercise without going to the gym. Take your dog for a walk or run around with it at home. Your pet will love it and you will have just gotten in the most fun workout ever.
7. Get Your Head in the Game
Get some friends together to throw a ball around or play a pick up game of basketball or baseball. You won’t even realize you are working out because you will be having so much fun. And it is an excuse to get some super cute matching baseball tees with your friends.
