There are so many complicated fads and trends circulating online and in gyms that it is often the case that we forget to do the simple things first. One of the key areas where this tends to happen is in the area of excess belly fat and how to shift it. Here are the fifteen most obvious changes to make to blast away belly fat!
You can’t just will your belly fat away; you have to start making the positive changes that are going to force your body to burn some of the fat that it is storing.
It’s important to drink lots and lots of water. Not only does it speed up your metabolism but it can often stave off hunger cravings.
Eliminate things from your diet that are classed as starchy carbs. These include potatoes, rice, pasta, and white bread.
Don’t skip breakfast, instead have a nice healthy, balanced one that will keep you going all through the morning and prevent you from snacking before lunch.
Limit your sugar intake as much as possible. Any excess sugar that is consumed by you will always be stored as fat by your body.
Start drinking a cup of black coffee before you work out. The caffeine causes your body to rely more on fat for fuel than glucose.
It’s always better for your metabolism to eat five to six small meals a day rather than two to three big ones.
Increase your vegetable consumption as much as you can. They are dense in nutrients and pack fewer calories than most other foods.
Don’t rely on pills that are advertised as fat burners. They don’t provide for a long-lasting lifestyle change, and will more than likely result in you reverting back to your old ways.
Try to consume between 25 and 35 grams of fiber every day. You can do this through eating things like bran cereal, beans, and oatmeal.
You need to eliminate junk food completely from your diet. It’s the kind of food that goes straight to your tummy!
Make sure that you get the right amount of protein in your diet. About 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight is the right combination to keep your body ticking over in a healthy way.
Eat more and more healthy fats in your diet. These are classed as the omega 3 fats that help to regulate your blood sugar levels and keep you feeling satisfied. Things like fatty fish, avocado, olives, and nuts are perfect.
When you do have cheat days, don’t do it for the quantity, do it for the flavors. Two slices of pizza taste exactly the same as the entire thing.
A good way to kick-start belly fat loss is by undertaking a detox. A green tea cleanse, a juice cleanse ... any kind of cleanse that takes your fancy!
