Did you know that your food personality has something to do with whether you will succeed or not in a particular weight loss plan?
According to WebMD Health News, the reason why some people are more successful than others when it comes to weight loss is down to their personality. Itβs not all a matter of how much you eat, how many calories you burn, or how much time you spend on the treadmill.
Experts say that there are 7 food personalities. These are:
β’ Meal skipper: often skips meals
β’ Night-time nibbler: munches at night
β’ Convenient diner: eats out often
β’ Fruitless feaster: skimps on fruits and vegetables
β’ Steady snacker: snacks a lot
β’ Hearty portioner: eats big portions
β’ Swing eater: swings between being a dietary "goody two-shoes" and then lapses
I must admit to being a swing eater and on my lapse days, I become a nighttime nibbler.
Knowing your food personality helps you to understand your relationship with food and this should help you build a weight loss regime that will work for you.
For example: Itβs okay if you are a hearty portioner. It would be better if you could train yourself to eat 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day but if you canβt do this, you just need to make sure that if you are going to eat big portions that the majority of your plate is healthy vegetables.
For all of these food personalities, it would be better if you could form healthier habits. A healthier habit once built is less effort than trying to fight a food personality with intrinsic unhealthy habits.
