I've struggled with my weight for many years, so I'm constantly looking for weight loss tips that are easy to follow. Here are some of the tips that I've found work best for me.

1. Schedule Meals

When looking for weight loss tips that are easy to follow, have you considered scheduling your meals? Many people find that they actually eat much less when they schedule their meals, instead of just eating when they're hungry. I have tried this and it actually works. It may take a few weeks to get into the habit eating this way, but after awhile it become part of your routine. Scheduling your snacks will also help prevent you from over indulging in unhealthy snacks.

2. Drink Water

I have a friend who has lost a lot of weight over the past couple of years. She contributes most of her weight loss to swapping her beverages for water. She now limits herself to one diet soda at dinner. The rest of the day she drinks water. She also says that she never drinks less than the recommended 8 glasses each day.

I must confess that I don't like to exercise. I am always amazed when women tell me that they love to exercise. Unfortunately, I've never found a workout routine that I've been able to stick with. Perhaps I just haven't found the right one. If you're like me and don't like to exercise, try to find ways to incorporate exercise into your life by doing activities that you enjoy such as bowling, swimming, or gardening.

You should also downsize your portions. When ordering at fast food restaurants, consider getting a kid's meal. While it many not be the best option on the menu, it's a better choice than a super-sized burger and fries.

This is something that's difficult for me. My husband loves fried foods, so I'm constantly tempted to make yummy fried dishes for him. As a general rule, try to bake, broil, or grill all of your foods. Even the healthiest foods can be ruined when you decide to fry them. Avoiding fried foods is something you should try to do when eating at restaurants, as well. Most restaurants have grilled and baked options available for you to choose from.

Are there times that you tend to overeat even though you're not hungry? I think this happens to most people from time to time. I tend to overeat when I am bored. I am also an emotional eater, so I overeat when I'm upset. If you're not sure what your eating triggers are, consider using a notebook to help discover what they are. In the notebook simply write down what you eat and how you feel when you eat.

Eating breakfast is a great way to start your day. For a long time I thought that skipping breakfast saved me a lot of calories. I now see that I was very wrong. When I don't eat breakfast I'm likely to indulge in snacks. Even though breakfast is still not my favorite meal of the day, I try to at least eat something like a breakfast bar or a protein shake. Doing this prevents me from binge eating at lunchtime.
