7 Simple and Little Changes for Big Weight Loss ...

You may wonder if it is possible to make little changes for big weight loss or will it take dramatic changes to your life? According to countless research, minor changes will help you to not only lose weight but keep this off for a lifetime. As a personal trainer I have helped thousands of people to do this. But in order for this to work, you have to be ready. So are you ready to make minor changes? In order to see results you have to be ready to make a change. I will not ask you to eat a cabbage only diet or give up all your favorite foods. I will ask you to change your portion sizes and make minor lifelong changes that are easy to stick with. Here are my little changes for big weight loss:

1. Control Your Portion Sizes

Watch your portion sizes by eating your lunch and dinner on salad plates. When eating lean meats, never eat a piece of lean chicken or beef larger than the palm of your hand. By making little changes for big weight loss, you just have to make minor lifestyle changes that are well worth it!

2. Stick with the 70/30 Rule

I live by the 70/30 rule which consists of eating 70% clean eating and 30% snacks, or one cheat day a week. This does not mean you should go overboard, but you can enjoy your favorite animal cookies, or a slice of extra cheese pizza, or even your favorite flavored ice cream. By living life in moderation you will stay on your healthy lifestyle plan without feeling deprived!

3. Walk Your Way to a Leaner, Healthier You

By parking farther away at the mall, taking the stairs wherever you go, and walking whenever you can, you will attain many daily steps. Wear a pedometer and set your goal of 10,000 steps a day. According to the American Stroke Awareness Association, this is the way to walk your way to a healthier heart. So make sure you get your walks in!

4. Schedule Your Workouts

You would think twice to cancel your scheduled dentist appointment, so why not view your workouts in the same manner? Schedule your workouts each day as nonnegotiable time to get your workout in. If you set this time aside each day, you will make exercise part of your life rather than a phase of your life.

5. Eat before You Food Shop

Never go to the food store hungry or you may find yourself buying food that you are craving rather than eating for health. Make a food list that is a list of all the essential food for the week.

6. Do Not Bring Junk Food in the House

A big “no no” is having junk food in your home because this is only temptation that is bound to cause trouble. If you are craving your once a week treat and ice-cream is your craving, go out and get a kid size portion rather than buying a gallon. If it is out of the home, you are less likely to go overboard and eat beyond your portion size. Regulate your life by keeping junk food out of your home!

7. Make Salad the Main Dish

Make salad the main dish of every meal so you can get plenty of cancer fighting phytonutrients, vitamins, minerals and fiber. If you make salad the main dish of every meal, you will eat fewer calories and have more energy from all the nutrients!
