Have you ever wondered should you try the Keto diet? If you were to ask someone if their health and appearance matters to them, you will rarely find someone who says that isn’t important to them. We all know that the healthcare and beauty industry are billion dollar industries that are always looking for the next profit. Diet fads have always been around, making promises of a healthier, happier and sexier new you. From supplements, celebrity endorsements, wraps and get fit quick schemes, they usually tend to come and go quickly. But what if you were to consider your body's biology, almost tricking it to burning fat quickly, while still eating high fat, delicious foods?

The Keto diet also referred to as a low carb or the Ketogenic diet, is rapidly gaining popularity and for the great, hard to deny results it brings. The Keto diet is not only easy to follow due to the delicious and easy to follow eating guidelines and options, but also provides rapid fat loss and helps reduce and prevent other health conditions. The Keto diet works because you are eating a very low carb, which puts your body into a state of ketosis which is when the body does not have enough glucose for energy so it burns stored fats instead. This results in a build-up of acids called ketones within the body. So, are you still asking should you try the Keto diet?

The Keto diet is one of the easiest diets to follow because you are not in a calorie counting mentality. Eating high-fat foods while reducing your carbohydrate intake is key to making this diet work. I have never stuck to a diet or found one so easy to follow, so if I can do it, you sure can too! You can indulge in foods like jalapeno poppers, bacon, mayo, butter, cheeses and guacamole, which are perfect for someone who craves savory, rich foods. If you are someone who has a sweet tooth, there are many alternatives to sweeten foods while also following the guidelines to make sure your body reaches a state of ketosis to burn fat. For example, adding Stevia to your coffee as a sweetener, will help you enjoy a tasty morning beverage.

Dinner is where you can be the most creative. Replacing your flour pasta noodles with low carb zucchini noodles will help you get your Italian fix, all while gaining momentum on your health goals. There are also many free Keto recipe apps available if you need creative meal ideas for you or your family. I promise you, flavor and satisfaction are not compromised with this diet since it hardly feels like a diet at all!

Results are delivered quickly if you are accurately following the Keto diet guidelines. The lower your size the lower the keto diet weight loss rate will be, however even at only 15 – 20% body fat, with a good plan you can continue to lose 2.2 –4.4 lb. of fat per week, getting you to a modest 10 – 12% body fat in a matter of weeks. Personally, I started the Keto diet around Christmas and I am down 30 pounds total. I have had my cheat days and weeks I missed opportunities at the gym, but overall, I am able to keep the weight off with little gym time. Due to the lack of carbohydrates you will consume, fat will instead be burned to fuel your body, causing the pounds to fall right off, making the Keto diet super effective for rapid weight loss.
