With summer already upon us, some of us might still not feel comfortable enough to wear sleeveless tops, all due to that pesky underarm fat that doesn’t seem to go away with anything we try. Are you tired of limiting your wardrobe choices? Not being able to wear camis or sleeveless shirts? It’s time to take action, get rid of the underarm fat for good and boost your confidence with the following exercises.
First things first, get into a plank position! Make sure your hands extend underneath your shoulders and your body is in a straight line. Now cross your right hand toward the left as you step your left foot out to the left, and then place your left hand and right foot to the left, quickly returning to the original plank position. Take three to five steps in one direction and come back to your original position. Make sure to repeat a few sets of these!
For this exercise, you will need a bench or a chair. Once you have it, sit on the edge of whichever object is available to you and place your hands at the sides with your fingers hanging off. Bend your legs at a 90-degree angle and lift off to lower your hips by bending your arms, then straighten them out to return to the original position. For best results complete this exercise for three sets, 25 repetitions each.
Lie on your back with your knees up and you feet flat on the floor, grab two weights and lift them above so that your arms are in line with your chest. Make sure you feel the burn with each rep and if not, try pulsing the weights! Repeat three sets of this exercise, consisting of 30 reps each.
Start with the same position as you would to complete a chest press, but this time lift you legs to a tabletop position. Then move the weights out to the sides slowly while keeping balance. Do three sets of 20 reps each and don’t be afraid to take breaks in between. This exercise specifically targets the underarm area, so it's perfect for your routine.
Do not skip regular push-ups if you are trying to get rid of armpit fat; they strengthen your arms, chest and shoulders creating muscle tone in the area that we need! You can work up by doing push-ups from the knees and slowly build up strength to complete a regular push-up.
For this exercise choose a flat bench and place your knee on top of the bench with your body leaning forward so that it’s parallel to the ground. Keep you right arm on the bench for support and hang a dumbbell off your left hand. Bring the dumbbell to your chest and slowly lower it to the original position.
Resorting solely to strength training to get rid of the underarm fat is not the best solution. You should rely on a combination of strength training, cardio and a healthy diet in order to see any results. Therefore, go for that run or a bike ride a few times a week to melt the fat that is causing the bulges under your arms in the first place.
With constant repetition and dedication, you’ll be wearing tank tops in no time. Just keep that fire inside you going, there are no quick fixes, just hard work that pays off! Good luck.
