For some of us, weight loss is something that is constantly on our minds. We always want to lose a stone or two, but for one reason or another, your dreams can never become reality! What, though, if you could just commit to one single month and try your hardest, and come out on the other side with some really great numbers to look back at? Here is how to lose 15 pounds in one month!
1. Intermittent Fasting
One of the best ways to lose weight in a short time span is through intermittent fasting. It is the process of not eating for around 16 hours, starting the day with good breakfast and then not eating again until the very end of the day. Doing this kind of fast two to three times a week can kick start your metabolism and produce really great results.
2. Avoid Grains and Refined Sugars
These are the two food elements that you need to be avoiding at all costs. Things like bread, pasta, rice and sugary treats like candy, cookies, and even fruit juice, are foods that easily lead to weight gain or weight maintenance, obviously not ideal when you want to lose weight fast! The reason is because they stimulate the insulin hormone and are quickly stored as fat.
3. Lift Weights
Don’t just focus on cardio if you want to drop the pounds in a short space of time. Cardio will provide you with the fitness that you need, but something like weight lifting is going to be the thing that really kick starts your metabolism and gets your body reacting in a fat burning way. You can burn a lot more calories through weight lifting.
4. Fish Oil
It can really help to take a fish oil supplement every day to keep your body ticking along nicely. Taking just two grams extra of fish oil every day can help your body to burn more calories, build more muscle, and importantly, it can also work to decrease your appetite and prevent snack cravings that run the risk of ruining your diet.
Make sure that you make your daily diet protein heavy because protein is the thing that helps you to feel fuller for longer on smaller amounts of food. You will end up snacking less which means that you won’t be consuming as many calories on a regular basis, so make sure that eggs, chicken, lean red meats, nuts, fish, etc. are all major players in your daily eating habits.
6. Healthy Fats
Don’t avoid healthy foods just because they contain fat. You should be avoiding processed carb fats in the form of bread, pasta, cookies, etc, but there are fats in things like eggs, avocado and nuts that are super important for weight loss and for keeping your body satisfied on a diet.
