There are lots of fun outdoor exercises for fall you should take advantage of while you can. It's already late in the season, but the way things are going, you can probably look forward to fall weather well into December, if not beyond. Soon enough the snow is going to fall, limiting your outdoor time. It's thus important to do as many fall exercises as you can right now! Before winter really hits and keeps you cooped up inside for months, check out these outdoor exercises for fall!
Hiking is one of the best outdoor exercises for fall, hands down! You get to enjoy the foliage, the clean air, and the beauty of nature as a whole. No matter where you go, you'll likely share your hike with lots of little animals preparing for the coming winter as well. Hiking is an excellent way to get fit while spending time with friends and loved ones, so remember to invite your partner or your BFF!
If hiking is a little too intense, then a simple walk is another fantastic outdoor exercise for fall. Again, you'll get to enjoy the leaves, you can easily spend time with your friends or your partner, and you can also indulge in some me-time. Just pop in your ear buds, load up your favorite playlist, and take off for a long walk as the sun starts to go down.
Walking and hiking both protect you against the cooler temperatures, but going for a run is even better. As long as you dress appropriately, you can really get your blood flowing with a jog or a more intensive run. Try the track at the local high school or YMCA, or check out the running paths in your area. Whatever you choose, you'll be giving your heart a fantastic workout!
Going for a bike ride is one of my favorite outdoor exercises for fall. The temperatures are perfect for a ride, especially if you choose a route that intersperses straight stretches with hills. Once more, this is a fantastic group activity; it's perfect for twosomes as well, if you want to go with your best friend or your special someone. Even riding by yourself is great; you get into a meditative state that makes it easy to forget the day's stresses.
Whether you're a guy or girl, a rousing game of touch football is one of the best fall exercises ever. 'Tis the season, after all, so any time you're with a large group that enjoys the game, pick a team captain, choose a winning team, and get down to business! You'll have so much fun that you won't even know you're exercising!
As with biking, walking, or running, rollerblading is an excellent way to get a great cardio workout. It's especially fun in the fall because the air is just so crisp and alive. You'll have such a great time that, again, it won't even feel like you're working out. Alternate your pace, go from leisurely to serious, and you'll be perfectly prepared for all those upcoming holiday indulgences.
Now, since it is late in the season and winter may choose to show up at any time, think about a different kind of skating when you're looking into outdoor exercises for fall. Ice skating is so much fun, it's a popular recreational sport, and it's another great way to spend time with friends or loved ones. It also provides a pretty intense workout – but only if you actually know how to ice skate. If you don't, your butt is going to hate you.
Outdoor exercises for fall provide fantastic opportunities to enjoy the fresh air before it gets too cold. As long as you make sure to dress appropriately, you can enjoy the crisp, clean air of this gorgeous season for quite a while longer! In the meantime, what are some of your favorite healthy fall activities?
